Ashley is a Chemist at Stepan Company in Elwood, IL.
She conducts the quality testing of a cationic polymer, ONAMER M®. This product has applications as a preservative and an antimicrobial for use in products targeting mucus membranes, dermatological applications, and surface protection for medical devices. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Ashley has worked at Abbott Molecular as a Biologist in the Manufacturing department and later advanced to the Lyophilization Research and Development team. While at Abbott, she produced and developed assays that would detect the concentration of an infectious diseases in a patient.
Previously, Ashley has served as a camp counselor at Girls’ Adventures in Mathematics, Engineering, and Science (GAMES) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. GAMES is an annual, week long camp, designed to give academically talented high school aged girls an opportunity to explore exciting engineering and scientific fields through demonstrations, classroom presentations, hands-on activities, and contacts with women in these technical fields.
